Michelle Bodle
Position: Director of Education
Michelle Bodle is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and runs Abide in the Spirit, a ministry focused on creating sacred spaces for holy listening through spiritual direction, supervision, and particular seasons of need. She graduated in 2023 from Fordham with the Advanced Certificate in the Supervision of Spiritual Directors, where her capstone project explored making meaning in grief and spiritual direction. She graduated in 2022 with her DMin from Wesley Theological Seminary in Church Leadership, where her project paper focused on the impact of group spiritual direction on young clergy women. She additionally holds a certification in Spiritual Formation from Drew Theological School (2012), an MDiv from Drew Theological School (2011), and a BA from Houghton College in religion and psychology (2007). Her Spiritual Direction Training was through the Center for Spiritual Formation (2013).
Lisa Brewitt
Lisa Brewitt is a pastor with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec who also coaches churches in revitalization. She is also a spiritual director. Her Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Studies is from Tyndale Seminary (OTS 96). She received her training in spiritual direction from Emmaus. Lisa considers herself to be a “Bapti-costal” and in her ministry as a pastor she has always drawn on the rich breadth of Christian Traditions and holds a deep awareness of the need for spiritual formation and spiritual direction in the life of the congregation.
Leanne Cabral
Leanne is passionate about helping others recognize God’s voice in their own life. She loves coming alongside others, helping them slow down and create space to connect to their soul and Creator so they can intentionally respond to the gifts, stirrings and calling He has placed within them. Her authenticity, humility and gentle approach creates the kind of atmosphere that makes delving into this subject safe and comfortable. Leanne is the creator of Hearing God, Thinking Clearly, Whispers in the Storm, and Bringing Faith Home speaking series. She is also the author of A Parent’s Best Gift—A book that provides biblically based tools, strategies and resources for parents and ministry leaders to make their invisible faith tangible, so they can intentionally point their kids to Jesus. Over the last 15 years she has had the privilege of speaking at conferences, retreats, churches and family camps. She has trained in Inner Healing Prayer through Alf Davis and Restoration Prayer. Leanne is a trained Spiritual Director through Emmaus Formation Centre and works as a Spiritual Director, offering individual, group and team care spiritual direction. Leanne is married to her husband James, and they have 4 kids together who are all in their 20s.
Pilar Gateman
Pilar Gateman, Ven. Dr. has a BA and a BEd in Music Education and French, an MDiv in Theology, a DMin in Spiritual Formation, a certificate in Spiritual Direction, a certificate in Pastoral Coaching and is ordained in the Anglican Church. She has taught at all levels of education. She has led retreats, workshops and seminars on Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Disciplines. Pilar works as the Executive Officer for the Anglican Diocese of Calgary. Pilar’s husband is a medevac pilot and they have 3 adult children. She enjoys kayaking, reading and traveling with her husband and kids.
Marc Gauvreau
Marc is an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and has been a congregational pastor for 25 years in Mississauga and Oakville, and is an experienced spiritual director.
For 10 years, he has been developing and delivering a discipleship-based approach to spiritual formation within the local church.
Marc enjoys his wife of 19 years and their 4 young boys.
Lorna Junker-Andersen
Lorna worked as a physician in emergency medicine and palliative care and was an assistant clinical professor in the department of family medicine at McMaster University prior to her retirement. She trained as a Spiritual Director through Emmaus Formation Center and has trained in various healing prayer modalities. She has led retreats and workshops and offers both individual and group spiritual direction.
Lorna believes that God is present and active in our daily lives and is passionate about walking with others, helping them to grow in intimacy with Him and into the fullness of who God created them to be.
Lorna is married to John, and they have 3 married children and 4 grandchildren. She enjoys times with family, deep conversations with friends, a good book, being out in nature, biking, kayaking or canoeing.
Mee Yun Kim
Mee Yun Kim is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers and a certified spiritual director. She currently practices with Vision Counselling & Consulting and her own private practice. As well, she serves as a pastor at a local church and teaches at Emmaus Formation Centre.Mee Yun is a lifelong learner, pulling from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman method, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and grounding herself in theo anthropology. Mee Yun's passion is to see people released to live from the uniqueness of who God created them to be.
Allyce Logue
Rev. Allyce Logue serves as an ordained elder in the Global Methodist Church. She has written for YouVersion’s Bible App, Life. Church, Firebrand Magazine, and the Future Church Company. Allyce also released her first book on the spiritual practice of lament with Invite Press in Fall 2025. She is passionate about creating resources for thoughtful engagement with Scripture and spiritual practices and has spoken on the topic across the country. In her down time, you will find her outside with her husband, David, and their two dogs, Molly and Winston.
Ally Moder, Ph.D.
Position: Executive Director
Dr. Ally Moder is a practical theologian, professor, pastor, and author who brings over two decades of ministry, education, and leadership experience to her role as Executive Director of Emmaus Formation Centre. She has taught Christian Ministry and Spiritual Formation at Azusa Pacific University, and Life Pacific University, and founded a global nonprofit, Just Work, devoted to equipping organizations in Christian education and formation. She is deeply passionate about equipping the local and global church to encounter God in meaningful and transformative ways, and to live out the transforming love of Christ in their lives through her work at Emmaus.
Ally holds a Ph.D. in Practical Theology and Spiritual Formation from Claremont School of Theology, and an M.A. in Theology and Spiritual Formation from Regent College in her hometown of Vancouver, Canada, where she first discerned her calling to the ministry of spiritual formation and direction. She also completed a certificate in Spiritual Direction, is a certified coach, and has authored numerous book chapters, published journal articles, and spoken at conferences, churches, and organizations around the world on themes of spiritual formation, ministry, social justice, and healing.
Jane Sider
Jane Sider, is the Director of Soul Intent, an international Coaching and Spiritual Direction practice. She helps leaders, change-makers, and those in the trenches of life and work serving others, to cultivate a deepening awareness of where God is present and active in their life and story, and how they are responding. She is passionate about Spiritual Formation as both contemplation and compassionate action, and brings years of experience in individual &group Spiritual Direction, SD Supervision, as well as Leadership Development. Jane holds a Master of Ministry and a Diploma in Conflict Mediation. She has worked for several years in Chaplaincy at a regional Children’s Hospital, journeying with families through tragic losses, and finding new hope. With her husband Mark, and 5 children, Jane lived for 11years in SE Asia & Africa serving in Community Development, Peace building, and Emergency Food Relief.
