Creative Arts and Spiritual Direction
Explore creativity, imagination, and contemplative listening as pathways to prayer and discernment.
Join us for a half-day continuing education workshop led by Ouida Pihulyk exploring the intersection of creative arts and spiritual direction. Together, we will reflect on how visual, literary, and physical arts can open space for prayer, deepen spiritual attentiveness, and support the work of companioning others.
This workshop will invite participants to engage creativity as a pathway for contemplative listening and discernment. Through practices such as Gospel contemplation, sacred texts and poetry, tactile contemplation, body prayer, and reflective storytelling, participants will consider the role of imagination, embodiment, and creativity in the spiritual life.
Designed for spiritual directors, directors in training, pastors, and ministry leaders, this gathering will offer both practical experience and thoughtful reflection for integrating creative practices into spiritual formation and direction.
