Christian Mindfulness and Spiritual Formation

Christian Mindfulness and Spiritual Formation

Cultivate presence, prayerful attentiveness, and grounded awareness in daily life.

Join us for a half-day continuing education workshop led by James Wilhoit exploring mindfulness as a Christian contemplative practice. Together, we will consider how mindfulness can support spiritual formation, pastoral care, and the practice of spiritual direction.

This workshop will introduce the foundations and practices of Christian mindfulness, including its theological grounding and relationship to centering prayer. Participants will be guided through simple mindfulness meditation and invited to reflect on how these practices can foster greater presence, emotional regulation, and relational attentiveness.

Through teaching, guided practice, discussion, and reflection, this gathering will offer practical ways to integrate Christian mindfulness into spiritual direction, ministry, and everyday life, especially in seasons of stress and uncertainty.
