Mental Health and Spiritual Direction

Mental Health and Spiritual Direction

Offer grounded, compassionate presence with wisdom and care.

Join us for a half-day workshop led by Luisa Johnson exploring the relationship between mental health and spiritual direction. Together, we will reflect on how spiritual directors can accompany others with attentiveness, compassion, and discernment while honouring the whole person before God.

Mental health and spiritual direction are interrelated dimensions of the human experience. This workshop will invite participants to consider how spiritual direction can provide a grounded and prayerful space for those living with mental health challenges, while also recognizing the importance of wise boundaries and appropriate care.

Participants will receive practical insight for accompaniment, including attention to referral wisdom, collaborative care, and the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of the director. This gathering will support spiritual directors and ministry leaders in offering presence that is both compassionate and responsible.
