Karen Fletcher
Karen is a graduate of the 3-year Spiritual Direction Certificate program at Emmaus. She believes that it is essential for Jesus-followers to tend to their spiritual, emotional and physical lives. As we do this, it has ripple effects in our families, neighbourhoods and world. Karen’s passion for social justice and for coming alongside others on their spiritual journey has led to a spirit-filled, non-judgemental approach to spiritual direction. If you are in a season of doubt, struggle, transition, ministry exhaustion or feeling like there must be more to life with God, Karen will provide a safe space for you.

The whole of you matters. With deep listening and whole-person attentiveness honed through 20 years of spiritual direction—alongside clinical counselling, ministry leadership, and coaching—I provide a discerning space to be seen, heard, and to notice the presence of God in your life.
Committed to Christ-centred, redemptive principles of whole-person health and relational vibrancy, together we notice the holiness of everyday life, and receive God’s restorative presence and attunement. My approach is relational and grounded, shaped by a Christ-centred vision of each person as deeply known, loved, and called to participate with intention in our own lives and in the lives of others.

I had the nudge to begin training in Christian Spiritual Formation and Direction many years ago. I discussed with two friends this yearning for the journey. Through God’s direction I found Emmaus Formation Centre, and I have been studying with Emmaus for the last two years. I am entering my third year in September 2021.
I love God and I love to see people grow deeper in their relationship with God, and would be humbled to journey with those who seek him deeply.
Kathryn lives in Ottawa with her husband Lawrence, 4 children, and 2 grandchildren.

Because Lorna believes that God is active and present in daily life, her desire and joy is to walk alongside others, together paying attention to His presence, His love and His activity in their everyday lives. It is her great joy to be a witness to God’s transforming work in their lives, growing in intimacy with Him and into the fullness of who He created them to be. Her training in spiritual direction, in healing prayer, in loss and grief through her work in palliative care, and in emotionally focused therapy assist her in journeying with others.

As a Spiritual Director, trained through Emmaus, my desire is to help you pay attention and respond to God’s invitations and activity in your life. My approach is to pay attention to you and the Holy Spirit without agenda, to listen and linger with what resonates, to observe and offer questions and spiritual exercises as appropriate, to create space to hear from God directly, and to be a prayerful presence as you discern God’s transforming love, grace, truth, and leading in your life. I live in a suburb of Vancouver, BC with my husband and 2 children and love to read, walk and kayak.

Wendy Machry

Wendy sees her role as spiritual director to be like that of a compass. As you participate in the adventure called life it is helpful to have a faith companion to help orientate your life around God’s presence so you can explore and self-discover where God is active and guiding you. This will encompass us holding safe space, being deeply present to what we hear and becoming more aware of the experience of the presence of God.
Wendy is a retired elementary school teacher.
She loves quilting, reading, walking the dog and spending time with her husband and grown children.

As a Spiritual Director my role is to encourage people to seek Eden, that place where we were created to be in relationship with the Creator and experience peace with the Godhead.
As a Spiritual Director, I imagine myself as a Lighthouse Keeper, the one who helps to keep the light burning brightly and the windows clear for others to see the Light for themselves and allow Holy Spirit to do his work of transformation.
“For you are God’s masterpiece. He has created you anew in Christ Jesus, so you can do the good things He planned for you long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10)
