Welcome to Week 3 Day 4
As we begin a new week of prayer, it is good to remember to enter into the time of meditative prayer with a spirit of quiet and relaxation. Let the mystery of God be near you, and let yourself be open to God’s gift of the Spirit.
OT Isaiah 42:5-7
NT Matthew: 28:16-20
Presence: Take two deep cleansing breaths, remembering that God is the giver of life. “Here I am God. Thank you for your presence.”
As you read the passage, first quietly, then aloud — pray, using Lectio Divina
Read the passage several times, noting which word or phrase surfaces for you. What is God highlighting, for you, during your prayer? Take this word or phrase to God, prayerfully asking for its meaning for your life. Wait and listen, being open to God.
Read Matthew: 28:16-20
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
Then Jesus came to them and said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Journal your prayer and experience of this time.
