Welcome to Week 2 Day 4
It is good to enter into the time of meditative prayer with a spirit of quiet and relaxation. Let the mystery of God be near you, and let yourself be open to God’s gift of the Spirit.
OT Leviticus 19:18, 34
NT Luke 10:25-28 The Great Commandment
Presence: Take two deep cleansing breaths, remembering that God is the giver of life. “Here I am God. Thank you for your presence.”
Read Luke 10:25-28 once quietly and once aloud.
Breath Prayer:After reading, take a deep breath and reflect on what might become a breath prayer, as a result of reading this short passage. When you find your breath prayer, pray with it, to the rhythm of your breathing, for 3 minutes.
Read Luke 10:25-28
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
“What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
“You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
Journal your prayer experience.
